30 Day Poetry Challenge; Day 11

Caged Bird

We don’t look closely enough,
At the small things,
At the cracks on the edges of our valves,
Everytime we get lied to,
and it hurts,
The stretched veins,
Thined out in all areas,
The blood that won’t pass,

Blood will not pass,
And it chokes the life of the organ,
Darkened air channels coughing up smoke,
The illusion is set for the magician to make the cage disappear,
But why can’t we escape the cage?
