Black Beautiful Women (BBW)

I’ve been on my own quest to discover what it means to be a young man who enjoys the company of beautiful (combination between brains and looks) women while trying to unlearn all my negative stereotypes about females.

The #MenAreTrash movement has really brought about tons of reflection upon myself. December saw Kutambokisa for the first time, openly invite a feminist for the fact that she is a feminist and because we were intrigued to learn.

Its safe to say Kutambokisa (December event) was a rather heated affair and there were points during the altercation that left a bitter taste in most peoples mouths. I however, left with a sense of accomplishment, even though very minimal.

But I understood one important aspect from the whole coming together of people, ideas, and life changing information with the intent to renew self with better ideas. This body was renewed and looking at the younger version of me who wrote BBW I feel like I was on to something powerful. This is how I started the change in my mental state.

BBW

I need a BBW,

Do you know any BBWs?
Not implying big booty whores,
Rather black beautiful women,
Time our BBWs started feeling loved beyond the colour of her skin,
texture of hair,
For she is a colour that’s 9 times out 10 not the right shade,

Men what’s your role in this?
Does she have to be your daughter before u realise what’s growing on the inside is what truly makes her beautiful,

She has on that Brazilian,
Dropping to her face,
Trying to mask the concealment,
Adding a dash of blush just to prove she has colour too,
All the while singing, that her Milkshake brings all the guys to the yard,

I need a BBW,
A black beautiful woman,
Independent enough to know,
She is valuable beyond the club,
random one night stands,
That the only opinion she must value is what she thinks,
But a black beautiful woman is also wise enough to know that other peoples words hold wisdom,

She must choose what to hold on to and what to toss as quickly as she got, My black beautiful woman will know that she does not have to dress provocatively to get men’s attention, She will also know that if she did dress provocatively its cause she wanted to, not because she’s proving something to that man in her past who yelled out she was nothing without him,

So independent she does not need me to consistently be around her to know she is cuffed,

Fathers of this society I look up to you, You’re the first link between your daughter and every other guy in the world, So raise her up to validate herself, There is nothing more sexy than an independent woman, Give her the constraints and guidelines,
There is nothing more admirable than a discerning woman,

I imagine having a daughter feels like the weight of the world is on your chest,
I urge you get used to the feeling of bench pressing the world,
You can either make changes to your world So your daughter grows up knowing she is worth more than a couple of drinks,
Or you can buy a pack of klinex to wipe away the tears,

But Like I said,
I need a BBW,

Words of a naïve younger me and yet even they transcend time and make me feel nostalgic. I know, its just writing, but I feel ideas shared can change the world. Can change the next mind who can develop on the concept.

Even if they don’t change the world, they will serve as a reminder to keep my spirits high as I explore this jungle and deal with different people and all their different agendas to change the world.

Even as you go about living your life, take a moment to open your eyes and bear witness to the injustice all around us. Injustice anywhere is afterall injustice everywhere.
